Day 1Jaisalmer: Arrival & Sightseeing

Our agent will greet you on your arrival in Jaisalmer and he will then escort you to your cozy hotel in town, which offers a beautiful fort view.

You may relax for some time here and in the afternoon, you will head towards the Jaisalmer Fort, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was built on top of the Trikuta Hill in 1156 AD by Maharaja Rawal Jaisal. It is among the very few forts in the world that is still inhabited by people and boasts of having more than 3000 residents till date. Some of the key attractions you will be visiting within the fort are the Raj Mahal (Royal Palace), the Jain temples, the Laxminath Ji Temple and the canon point. Apart from that the fort houses a museum, various shops, restaurants, residential accommodation, hotels, etc.

After exploring the Jaisalmer Fort which is also known as the ‘Sonar Killa’, you will head towards the Patwon ki Haveli, an architectural marvel built in 1805 by a very rich merchant named Guman Chand Patwa. The Patwon ki Haveli is a cluster of five havelis that he later built for his five sons.

Soon, you will visit the Gadisar Lake, which is a beautiful man-made lake that was constructed by Maharawal Gadsi in the 14th century to provide a reliable source of water for the inhabitants of the Jaisalmer city. Here, you can sit by the banks of this tranquil lake or enjoy boating (at your own expense). After witnessing an enchanting sunset on the shimmering water of the lake, you must head towards the ancient Shiva Temple, located on one side of the Gadisar lake to witness an immersive evening aarti.

After this, you will head back to your hotel to relax and rejuvenate. Soon you will feast on a delicious dinner on the rooftop restaurant of your hotel that not only offers a mesmerizing fort view, but also a captivating ambiance. Later come back to your room to grab a restful sleep.

Day 2Jaisalmer: Local Sightseeing

Wake up to a fresh new day, freshen-up and then relish a scrumptious breakfast.

After breakfast, you will begin your sightseeing tour for the day. The first attraction you will be visiting today in Jaisalmer is the Bada Bagh, which is a set of royal chhatri cenotaphs that were constructed by the kings of Jaisalmer since the 18th century. These beautiful cenotaphs are located on the outskirts of Jaisalmer on a small hilltop overlooking a mango grove. These intricately carved cenotaphs serve as the cremation point for the royal family and  also as a picturesque location for various photoshoots.

After this, you will head towards the Amar Sagar Jain Temple, which is a fascinating architectural marvel that was built in 1928 by a rich merchant named Patwa Bafna Himmat Ram. This Jain temple is dedicated to Lord Parshwanath and is counted among the major Jain temples in India. The temple has been designed in the Dilwara style of architecture and features various small domes & beautiful intricate carvings.

This will be followed by a visit to Kuldhara, an abandoned village with a mysterious past. As per the legend, it is believed that Kuldhara was once inhabited by the Paliwal Brahmins who on a fateful night in 1875 left their homes along with the residents of about 90 more villages to safeguard the honour of a young Paliwal Brahmin girl from Salim Singh, a cunning minister.

After exploring Kuldhara, you will head towards the famous Sam Sand Dunes in the Great Thar Desert. On the way to the dunes, you can choose to indulge in various adventure activities like parasailing, paramotoring, quad biking and jeep safari, but all this at your own expense.

After traveling for a couple of minutes, you will reach the Sam sand dunes. Here you will embark on an unforgettable camel ride to experience the nomadic desert life. After this, you will be given some time to wander on the dunes by yourself and to click some amazing pictures with a backdrop of the golden sand dunes.

After spending some quality time at the dunes, you will check-in to your desert camp. On your arrival in the camp, you will receive a warm traditional welcome with tikka and dhol. Here you will witness a truly mesmerising local cultural programme performed by the local gypsy community, which includes folk dance, music, fire show, etc.

After the programme, have a delicious dinner and enjoy a peaceful sleep in your luxurious Swiss tent.

Day 3Jaisalmer - Jodhpur

Today, wake up to a fresh new day amidst the golden sand dunes and savour a delightful breakfast before bidding adieu to your luxurious desert camp in Jaisalmer.

Today, you will travelling to Jodhpur via Tanot Longewala. Enroute Jodhpur, your first stop will be the Longewala Yudh Sthal. This site stands as a testament to the bravery and determination of our armed forces during the historic Battle of Longewala in 1971.

The next attraction you will be visiting today is the Sadhewala War Memorial, which is place of deep reverence that pays homage to the exceptional bravery and sacrifices made by our soldiers during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971.

The last attraction you will be visiting today is the famous Tanot Mata Temple that is dedicated to ‘Awadh Mata,’ an incarnation of Goddess Durga. On reaching the temple, you will have a distinctive experience as you will be witnessing a unique blend of history and spiritual significance. According to the legend, the Pakistan Army dropped around 400 bombs in the vicinity of the temple and none of them exploded. So, after the war was over, the Pakistani Army General came to visit the temple to seek forgiveness from the divine Goddess. This temple gained immense popularity after it was featured in the 1997 Bollywood Blockbuster ‘Border’ and ever since then, it attracts millions of visitors annually.

Having sought blessings at Tanot Mata, continue your journey to Jodhpur. Upon reaching your luxurious hotel, indulge in a sumptuous dinner and unwind for a tranquil night’s sleep.

Day 4Jodhpur – Ranakpur / Kumbalgarh – Udaipur

We recommend you wake up and start a bit early today to utilize your time efficiently, as you will embark on an immersive sightseeing tour before reaching Udaipur, the city of lakes. Enroute Udaipur, you will be taking a small halt at Ranakpur and Kumbalgarh to visit some of the key attractions here.

You will begin your sightseeing tour by visiting the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort, which is perched atop a hill and was constructed by Maharaja Rao Jodha in 1459. The fort stands almost 400 feet above the Jodhpur plains and provides breathtaking panoramic views of Jodhpur.

Following your visit to the Mehrangarh Fort, you will visit the royal cenotaphs at Jaswant Thada, which is often called as the ‘Taj Mahal of Mewar’ for its captivating beauty. The Jaswant Thada was erected in 1899 by Maharaja Sardar in honour of his late father, Maharaja Jaswant Singh II.

After this, you will visit the Umaid Bhawan Palace, which is another architectural marvel that is counted as the youngest royal palace in India. This palace was built in 1943 by Maharaja Umaid Singh to provide employment to the locals during times of drought and famine.

After this, you will conclude your sightseeing tour for the day by either visiting the Ranakpur Jain Temple or the Kumbalgarh Fort.

The Ranakpur Jain Temple is a beautiful archaeological marvel that was commissioned by a wealthy local businessman named Darna Shah. The temple is dedicated to Lord Adinatha, the first Jain Tirthankara and features beautiful carvings on stunning marble architecture.

The Kumbhalgarh Fort is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was built in the 15th century by Rana Kumbha. It is renowned for its picturesque views and an almost impregnable wall stretching over 36 kilometers. It is the second largest fortified structure in the World after the ‘Great Wall of China’.

Both these attractions are equally beautiful, where the Ranakpur Temple offers a spiritual experience, the Kumbalgarh Fort offers a peek into the glorious past of the Jodhpur royals. After this, you will soon reach Udaipur, where you will check-in to your cozy hotel for a delightful dinner and a peaceful night’s sleep.

Day 5Udaipur: Local Sightseeing

Today wake up and Indulge in a delightful breakfast to kickstart your day and get ready to explore the enchanting attractions of Udaipur.

The first attraction you will visit today is the Bhartiya Lok Kala Museum, that was established in 1952 by Padam Shri Late Devi Lal Samar. This museum showcases a diverse collection of folk art, highly decorated jewellery, unique puppets, and various masks. The museum occasionally hosts live performances of traditional folk arts, including puppet shows and folk dances.

After this, you will visit the Sajjangarh Monsoon Palace, which is a magnificent structure built by Maharana Sajjan Singh in 1884 to monitor the monsoon clouds. This palace is built on a hilltop overlooking the Fateh Sagar Lake and provides stunning views of the surroundings.

After the Sajjangarh Monsoon Palace, you will visit the Saheliyon ki Bari, a beautiful garden created by Maharana Sangram Singh as a recreational haven for the royal women. This garden features beautiful lotus pools, fountains, and verdant pavilions.

This will be followed by a visit to the City Palace, which is a beautiful palace that was built over a period of 400 years by various rulers from the Mewar dynasty. This palace is constructed on a cliff overlooking the beautiful Lake Pichola and it showcases a beautiful fusion of Mughal & Rajasthani architecture. Some of the noteworthy attractions in the palace include it’s mirrored walls, ivory doors, colourful glass windows, etc.

This will be followed by a visit to the Jagdish Temple, which is considered as the largest temple in Udaipur. This temple was built in 1651 and is dedicated to lord Jagannath Rai. Here, you will witness an enchanting evening aarti.

After this, you are free to explore the local market on your own. Later, come back to your hotel for a scrumptious dinner and a restful sleep.

Day 6 Udaipur: Sightseeing & Departure

Today, wake up, freshen up, have an appetizing breakfast and then check-out from your hotel to visit the beautiful Lake Pichola, before heading back home.

Lake Pichola is considered as the largest lake in Udaipur and it was constructed by a ‘banjara’ (a gypsy) in 1362 by building a dam on the river Berach to cater to the drinking and irrigation needs of the region. The lake was later enlarged in the 16th century by Maharana Udai Singh II, the founder of Udaipur.

This lake houses four islands out of which, the Jag Niwas and the Jag mandir are the most popular ones. You will embark on a boat ride to the Jag Mandir, which is also known as the ‘Lake Garden Palace’. The foundation of the palace was laid by Maharana Amar Singh in 1551 and it was completed in 1649 by Maharana Jagat Singh I. This palace is renowned for its beautiful garden courtyard, intricate architecture, tranquil surroundings, and the beautiful view of the palaces & havelis situated on the lake’s banks.

After spending some quality time here, we will drop you at your preferred destination in Udaipur, the Udaipur airport Railway Station or the ISBT.
