    Day 1Bengaluru – Mysuru

Upon your arrival at the Bengaluru Airport or Railway Station, you will be warmly welcomed by our friendly agent, who will escort you to the beautiful city of Mysuru, which is also known as the “Cultural Capital of Karnataka”.

On the way to Mysuru, you will visit the historic town of Srirangapatna, which is steeped in cultural and historical significance. Here, you will first visit the Dariya Daulat Bagh, which used to be the summer palace of Tipu Sultan. This beautiful garden palace was built by Tipu Sultan in 1784 and is made using teakwood. Inside the palace, you will find murals and paintings that depict Tipu Sultan’s military campaigns, as well as a museum displaying various artifacts from his reign.

Next, you will visit the Gumbaz, which is a mausoleum that was built by Tipu Sultan in honour of his father, Sultan Hyder Ali, and his mother, Fakhr-Un-Nisa. The Gumbaz has been constructed in Indo-Islamic architecture, and is adorned with black granite pillars. The mausoleum is surrounded by a well-maintained garden and the tomb is an important symbol of Mysuru’s rich history.

Then, you will visit the Tipu Fort, which was once considered the strongest fort in india as it featured double walls and four majestic gates, making it almost unpenetrable during an invasion. This impressive structure played a crucial role in Indian history and is a remnant of the valiant resistance Tipu Sultan offered to British forces. The fort complex offers a glimpse into the military architecture of the time and contains numerous chambers and armories once used by Tipu Sultan and his soldiers.

After this, you will head towards the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple, which is an ancient temple that is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple is one of the Pancharanga Kshetrams  and is considered as an important pilgrimage site in Karnataka. It is also counted among the largest temples in Karnataka, that is renowned for its serene ambiance and spiritual significance. The temple showcases beautiful Dravidian architecture and is complemented by a massive gopuram (tower) that greets visitors.

After soaking in the rich history of Srirangapatna, you will continue your journey to Mysuru, where you will first check into your hotel to freshen up and grab a little rest.

Then, in the evening, you will proceed to explore the Mysuru Maharaja’s Palace (Amba Vilas Palace), which is one of the largest palaces in India. This royal residence is an architectural marvel that was built in the Indo-Saracenic style and features domes, arches, along with exquisite carvings that tell the story of Mysuru’s regal past. The palace is illuminated in the evenings with nearly 100,000 bulbs, making it a breathtaking sight. Inside the palace, you will find opulent rooms, grand halls, and an extensive collection of artifacts from the Wodeyar dynasty.

This will be followed by a visit to the enchanting Brindavan Gardens, that is renowned for its symmetrical design, well-manicured lawns, vibrant flowerbeds, and ornate fountains. Here, you will see the garden come alive in the evening with a musical fountain show, where the water jets dance to the rhythm of classical music, offering a delightful spectacle.

After enjoying the musical fountain show, you will return to your hotel for a delectable dinner and to enjoy a peaceful overnight stay.

    Day 2Mysuru – Ooty

On the way to Ooty, your first stop will be at the Chamundi Hill, which is a hill that is located on the outskirts of Mysuru. This hill is perched at a height of about 1,000 meters, and it offers panoramic views of the Mysuru town. The hill houses the Mata Chamundeshwari Temple, which is morethan a 1,000-year-old temple that is dedicated to Goddess Chamundeshwari, who is an incarnation of Goddess Durga. This temple is a major pilgrimage site, and its towering gopuram (temple tower) is adorned with intricate carvings. En route the temple, you will also see the monolithic statue of Nandi, the sacred bull of Lord Shiva, standing at over 16 feet tall.

After the safari, you will continue your journey towards Ooty, while passing through the beautiful Mudumalai National Park, that is also known for its scenic landscape and diverse wildlife. Soon, you will reach Ooty, where you will check into your hotel to grab a little rest and to refresh.

After a little rest, you will head to the famous Ooty Lake, which is a huge artificial lake that is spread across more than 65 acres. This lake was constructed in 1824 by John Sullivan, the founder of Ooty. The lake is surrounded by eucalyptus trees and lush greenery, making it the perfect spot for boating. Here, you can rent paddleboats or rowboats for a peaceful ride across the calm waters, but at your own expense.
