You will begin your day by visiting the Sajjangarh Monsoon Palace, an 1884 hilltop palace designed by Maharana Sajjan Singh, to monitor the monsoon clouds. The palaceis built on a hill overlooking the Fateh Sagar Lake and offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city’s lakes, palaces and landscape.

This will be followed by a visit to the Saheliyon ki Bari, which is a beautiful garden built by Maharana Sangram Singh as a recreational area for the royal women. Apart from the lush green cover, the garden comprises of beautiful lotus pools and intricately carved fountains.

After this you will visit the Bhartiya Lok Kala Museum, a cultural museum that promotes folk arts, folk dance, and folk literature. The museum houses a collection of ornate jewellery, folk art, unique puppets, and masks. It also hosts live performances of traditional folk arts, including folk dances and puppet shows.

You will then head off towards the picturesque Lake Pichola, a huge man-made lake that houses four islands. Out of these, the Jag Niwas (Lake Palace) and Jag Mandir are the most popular ones.

You will conclude your day’s sightseeing with a delightful boat ride on Lake Pichola. Here you will visit the famous Jag Mandir, which is renowned for its tranquil shores and splendid architectural beauty.

Day 3Udaipur – Haldighati – Kumbalgarh – Ranakpur

Today, wake up a bit early, so that you can start early and set off to explore some of the major attractions around Udaipur, like the Maharana Pratap Museum in Haldighati, the Kumbhalgarh Fort, and the Ranakpur Jain Temple.

The first destination on your sightseeing tour today is Haldighati, which witnessed the Battle of Haldighati in 1576. This battle was held between Maharana Pratap Singh of Mewar and the Mughal Emperor Akbar, who was represented in the war by his General, Raja Man Singh of Amber. The Mughals were successful in winning the war, but had failed to kill or capture Maharana Pratap or any of his close allies.

In Haldighati, you will first visit the Maharana Pratap Museum, that is renowned for its antiques and captivating light & sound show. After this, you will visit the Chetak Samadhi, which is the tomb of Maharana Pratap’s loyal horse, Chetak who died during the Battle of Haldighatti. Finally, you will visit the Rakht Talai before heading off to Kumbalgarh. The Rakht Talai is derived from two words, ‘Rakht’ meaning blood and ‘Talai’ meaning lake. It is called so, because the water in the lake turned red from the blood of numerous slain soldiers.

After spending some time exploring Haldighati, you will head towards the Kumbalgarh Fort, which is a UNESCO World heritage Site that was built by Raja Rana Kumbha in the 15th century. This fort has the second largest wall that spans for about 36 kms and is considered as the second largest fortified structure after the ‘Great Wall of China’.

After Kumbalgarh, you will head towards Ranakpur, where you will visit the famous Ranakpur Jain Temple, which is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Adinath, the first Jain Tirthankara. The temple was built in the 15th century by a merchant named Darna Shah. This temple is renowned not only for its spiritual significance, but also for its beautiful marble architecture and intricate carvings.

After spending some quality time finding peace and spiritual aura at the Ranakpur Jain Temple, you will check-in to your hotel in Ranakpur, where you will feast on a scrumptious dinner and grab a restful night’s sleep.

Day 4Ranakpur – Mount Abu

Today, wake up to another refreshing day, freshen up, relish a delicious breakfast and then you will head towards Mount Abu, a beautiful hill station in Rajasthan that once served as a retreat for ascetics and sages.

On reaching Mount Abu, you will first check-in to your hotel to relax & unwind. Then you will head to the Dilwara Jain Temples, which are renowned for their intricate marble carvings and architectural brilliance. These temples were built by Vastupal & Tejpal between the 11th and 13th centuries and they stand as a true testament to the exquisite artistry and devotion of the Jain community.

Next you will visit the Nakki lake, which is considered as the heart of Mount Abu. This beautiful lake is a man-made marvel that is considered as the only artificial lake in India constructed over an altitude of 1200 m above sea level. Legend has it that the lake was formed by the Gods themselves using their nails. Moreover, Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes were also immersed in the lake on 12th February, 1948 and a monument was constructed at the place, which is known as the Gandhi Ghat. You can enjoy boating in the tranquil waters of this lake, but at your own expense.

After this, you will head towards the Toad Rock, which is a beautiful rock formation next to the Nakki lake that imitates a toad (frog) about to jump in the lake. The Toad Rock acts as the perfect spot for those incredible selfies or photographs as it offers a picturesque view of the lake and the surrounding area.

Lastly, you’ll visit the Sunset Point, which serves as the perfect spot for witnessing a breathtaking sunset with a backdrop of truly spectacular views of the rugged Aravalli ranges.

Later, you will return to your hotel for a delicious dinner and a peaceful sleep.

Day 5Mount Abu: Local Sightseeing

Start your day with a hearty breakfast at your hotel, and then you will head off to explore the other key attractions in Mount Abu like the Brahma Kumari Spiritual Ashram, Achalgarh Fort, Guru Shikhar, and the Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary.

Today, you will start your sightseeing tour by visiting the Brahma Kumari Spiritual Ashram, which is an international, non-governmental spiritual organization founded by Dada Lekhraj Kripalani in the 1930s. It is also known as ‘Madhuban’, the forest of honey and is spread across 50 acres of land. Here you will visit the Brahma Kumari Museum and learn more about their beliefs, values, and spiritual teachings. This will be followed by a visit to the Achalgarh village, which is home to the Achalgrah Fort that was built in the 14th century by the Paramara dynasty and was later renovated by Maharana Kumbha. It houses the famous Achaleshwar Mahadev Temple and the beautiful Mandakini Lake within the complex.

After this, you will head to Guru Shikhar, the highest peak (1722 m above sea level) in the Aravalli Ranges. This peak has been named after Guru Dattatreya, who once resided here on the peak and houses a cave (which has now been converted into a temple) and the Mount Abu Observatory. The Guru Shikhar peak offers breathtaking panoramic views of Mount Abu city and the surrounding landscapes.

Lastly, you will be visiting the Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary, which was established in 1960 to preserve the biodiversity of the region. This wildlife sanctuary is spread across an area of about 288 sq. kilometres and houses numerous mountain peaks ranging from 300 metres to 1722 metres, including the Guru Shikhar peak. This wildlife sanctuary also consists of various igneous rocks with large cavities that have formed because of the natural weathering due to wind and water.
