Day 1Jaisalmer: Arrival & Sightseeing

Upon your arrival in Jaisalmer, our friendly agent will warmly welcome you and escort you to your cozy hotel in town, that offers a captivating view of the majestic fort.

After check-in, relax for some time and then you will begin a sightseeing tour in the afternoon with your loved one. You will first visit the famous Jaisalmer Fort, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that is perched atop the Trikuta Hill. This fort was built in 1156 AD by Maharaja Rawal Jaisal and is still inhabited by over 3000 residents. Inside the fort complex, you will explore the Royal Palace (Raj Mahal), Jain temples, Laxminath Ji Temple, and the canon point. Apart from that, the fort also houses a museum, various shops, restaurants, and residential accommodations.

Following your visit to the ‘Sonar Killa’ (Golden Fort), you will proceed towards the Patwon ki Haveli, which is an architectural marvel, that was crafted in 1805 by a rich-influential merchant Guman Chand Patwa for his five sons.

After this, you will visit the beautiful Gadisar Lake, which is a 14th-century man-made reservoir that was created by Maharawal Gadsi to cater to the drinking and irrigation needs of the city. Your first stop for the day is the Bada Bagh, which is a collection of royal chhatri cenotaphs, that have been constructed by and for the Jaisalmer Royals since the 18th century. These intricately carved cenotaphs are nestled on a small hilltop overlooking a mango grove and offer a picturesque backdrop for a romantic photoshoot.

This will be followed by a visit to the Amar Sagar Jain Temple, which is an architectural marvel that was built in 1928 by a wealthy merchant named Patwa Bafna Himmat Ram. This temple is dedicated to Lord Parshwanath, and it acts as the perfect example of the Dilwara style of architecture, featuring small domes and intricate carvings. This temple is dedicated to ‘Awadh Mata,’ who is an incarnation of Goddess Durga and it attracts millions of devotees every year. You will begin today’s sightseeing tour in Jodhpur by visiting the Mehrangarh Fort, that was constructed by Maharaja Rao Jodha in 1459. This magnificent fort is perched atop a hill, around 400 metres above the Jodhpur plains and offers breath-taking panoramic views of the city.

Next, you will head towards the Umaid Bhawan Palace, which is considered as the youngest royal palace in India. This palace was built by Maharaja Umaid Singh in 1943 to provide employment to the locals suffering from drought and famine during the period.

After this, you will depart form jodhpur and will head towards Ranakpur, where you will visit the Ranakpur Jain Temple. This beautiful temple is dedicated to Lord Adinatha, the first Jain Tirthankara and was commissioned by a wealthy local businessman named Darna Shah.

After seeking the blessings from Lord Adinatha, you will then proceed towards the Kumbalgarh Fort, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was built in the 15th century by Maharana Kumbha.
