Legends say that Goddess Kanyakumari performed penance here to marry Lord Shiva, but the marriage was called off, leaving the grains meant for the feast to turn into stones, which can still be seen on the shore.

Next, visit the peaceful Agni Teertham, which is one of the 64 sacred baths in India. Pilgrims perform various rituals here, and it is believed that taking a dip in these waters absolves one of sins.
