On your arrival in Srinagar, our friendly agent will greet you at the Srinagar Airport, Railway Station or the ISBT. He will then escort you to either Sonamarg or Pahalgam, as per your travel itinerary.

Both Sonamarg and Pahalgam are renowned tourist destinations that boast of beautiful picturesque landscapes.

If you choose to take the helicopter ride from Sonamarg

On your arrival in Sonamarg, you will first check-in to your hotel to freshen up and to grab a little rest. After this, you have the option to trek or take a pony ride (ride on your own expense) to the Thajwas Glacier, which is renowned for its stunning natural beauty, towering snow-capped peaks, pristine glaciers, and lush green meadows.

Apart from that, you can also indulge in white water rafting on the Sind River to add a pinch of adventure and to make this spiritual journey more memorable as you will be able to access various viewpoints and vantage points along the river that are otherwise inaccessible by foot (at your own expense).

Later, come back to your cozy hotel to relish a delicious dinner and to settle in for a restful sleep.

However, If you choose to take the helicopter ride from Pahalgam

On your arrival in Pahalgam, you will check-in to your cozy hotel to drop your luggage and to freshen-up. After this, you will come out of your cozy hotel and visit the ancient Mamaleshwar temple, which is an ancient temple that exhibits traditional Kashmiri and is dedicated to Lord Shiva.

After this, you have an option to take a leisurely horse ride or indulge in an adventurous white water rafting on the Lidder River for a more immersive experience, but at your own expense.

Following this immersive activity, you are free to explore the vibrant local market of Pahalgam to shop for traditional Kashmiri handicrafts, souvenirs, woolens, and Pashmina shawls.

Later, return to your cozy hotel to relish a sumptuous Kashmiri cuisine and to grab a restful night’s sleep.

Day 2Sonamarg / Pahalgam - Panjtarni - Amarnath

Today, wake up to the melody of the chirping birds, look out of your window to marvel at a beautiful scenic view, freshen-up and then have a hearty breakfast.

Post breakfast, you will head towards the helipad to board the helicopter from either Baltal near Sonamarg or from Pahalgam to Panjtarni, which is situated around 6 kilometers from the Amarnath Cave. Upon your arrival in Panjtarni, you will embark on an approximately 2-3 hour trek to the sacred shrine. Optionally, you may also go for a pony ride or a palki to reach the Amarnath Cave, but at your own expense.

On reaching the entrance of the holy abode of Lord Shiva, you will be greeted with echoes of ‘Om Namah Shivay’ and soon you will be blessed with the divine darshan of the sacred ice Shivling, which represents Lord Shiva and is known as the Amarnath Baba. Apart from the main Shivling, there are two small lingams in the cave which represent Goddess Parvati and Lord Ganesha.

As per the legend, Goddess Parvati once asked Lord Shiva why he wears the Mundamala (bread of heads), to which Lord Shiva replied, that he did so to keep an account of the times Goddess Parvati died and was reborn.

Then out of further curiosity she insisted Lord Shiva to reveal the secret of immortality. In response to her, Lord Shiva decided to divulge the secret in the remote and inaccessible Amarnath Cave.

To ensure complete secrecy, he chose to leave his most trusted friend, Nandi the bull, at Pahalgam, and then continued the journey to the cave with only the moon (Chandra) adorning his crown to illuminate the path. Later, he released the moon from his hair at Chandanwari and then he further released the snakes at the Lake Sheshnag to guard the entrance of the cave. To further maintain privacy, Lord Shiva even asked Lord Ganesha to stay at Mahaganus Parvat (also known as Mahagun Top) to guard the cave. He even left the five elements from which all life forms are made (Earth, fire, water, sky, and air) at Panchtarni.

Moreover, Lord Shiva created a Rudra by the name of ‘Kalagni’ to eliminate all living creatures in the vicinity. Despite these precautions, two eggs that lay under the deer-skin of Lord Shiva hatched and the pair of those little pigeons heard the divine secret of immortality, which also made them immortal and it is believed that they continue to reside in the cave to this day.

Please note: The helicopters operate between 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. as per the weather conditions.

After seeking the blessings of Lord Shiva, you will return to Panjtarni, where a helicopter awaits to transport you back to Neelgrath (near Sonamarg) or to Pahalgam, as per your travel itinerary.

On your arrival in Sonamarg or Pahalgam, you will head back to your cozy hotel to reflect on the divine experiences of the day, relish a delicious dinner and to have a peaceful night’s stay.

Day 3Sonamarg / Pahalgam – Srinagar

Today, wake up to a fresh new day in Sonamarg / Pahalgam, freshen up and then you will embark on a scenic ride to Srinagar.

If you are travelling from Pahalgam to Srinagar

On the way to Srinagar, you will stop at the Awantipora Ruins to explore the historical remnants of the ancient Hindu temples built during the reign of King Avantivarman in the 9th century using sandstone. The ruins of these temples consist of two main temples — Avantiswami Temple and Avantishwara Temple.

Upon your arrival in Srinagar, you will first visit the Shalimar Bagh, one of the famous Mughal Gardens that was built during the reign of the Mughal Emperor Jahangir in 1619. Here, you can sit by and stroll through the peaceful and well-manicured lawns to admire the vibrant beauty of the flower beds.

After spending some quality time at the Shalimar Bagh, you will head towards the Pari Mahal, which is also known as the ‘Palace of Fairies’. This palace was built by Dara Shikoh, the eldest son of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the 17th century as a residential school of Sufism and an observatory for studying astrology and astronomy. The Pari Mahal showcases a unique blend of Islamic and Persian architectural styles and the seven terraced gardens surrounding the palace are laid out in a symmetrical pattern that offer panoramic views of Srinagar and the Dal Lake.

Then, in the evening, you will head towards the Dal Lake to enjoy the iconic Shikara ride, but at your own expense. As you glide through the serene waters of the lake, you will pass through various floating gardens, houseboats, and charming waterfronts.

Later, you will check-in to your cozy hotel overlooking the Dal Lake or a luxurious houseboat for a truly immersive experience. Here, you will soon be served a delicious Kashmiri dinner, which will be followed by a restful night’s sleep.

Day 4Srinagar: Local Sightseeing & Departure

Today, wake up to the gentle embrace of the first light of the sun rays, freshen up, and then you will set off to visit the Adi Shankaracharya Temple in Srinagar before embarking on your journey back home.

The Adi Shankaracharya Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is also known as Jyesteshwara Temple. It is located on the Gopadri Hill which is also known as the Shankaracharya Hill or Takht-e-Suleiman in the local language. This temple is considered as the first and the oldest Hindu temple in Kashmir that is believed to have been established by the great philosopher and saint Adi Shankaracharya during his visit to Kashmir in the 8th century. The temple has been built using solid stone blocks that reflect a unique blend of Hindu and Kashmiri architectural styles. It’s strategic location offers beautiful panoramic views of the Srinagar city, the Dal Lake, and the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas.

After seeking the blessings of the divine and capturing some unforgettable moments at the Adi Shankaracharya Temple, you will proceed towards the Srinagar airport, railway station or the ISBT to begin your journey back home.
