On arrival in Jaipur, you will be greeted by our friendly agent who will then escort you to your cozy boutique hotel. After check-in, freshen-up and prepare to witness some of the key attractions of the capital of Rajasthan like the Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, and the City Palace.
You will start today’s sightseeing tour by heading towards the Hawa Mahal, also known as the ‘Palace of Winds’. This captivating structure was built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799 using pink sandstone. This palace was built to provide a discreet viewing point to the royal women so that they could observe all the activities taking place on the streets below without getting noticed by any onlookers.
After spending some quality time experiencing the royal life of the begone era, you will visit the Jantar Mantar, which is an UNESCO World Heritage Site that was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. The structures act as astronomical observation points for tracking time, predicting eclipses, and in locating the stars and other planets.
Your next destination will be the City Palace, a royal palace built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in the 18th century. This palace still serves as the home to the royal family and is renowned for its beautiful blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture. The huge palace compound houses beautiful gardens, courtyards, and various key structures like the Mubarak Mahal, the Chandra Mahal, Diwan-i-Khas, Diwan-i-Aam, Patrika Gate, etc.
Finally, you will conclude your sightseeing tour for the day on a spiritual note by visiting the Govind Dev Ji Temple, which is situated within the City Palace complex. The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna and was constructed by Raja Man Singh in 1890 after the death of Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh. According to the legend, the idol of Lord Krishna was brought from Vrindavan in 1735 by Maharaja Sawai jai Singh II, the founder of Jaipur.
Later, come back to your cozy hotel to relish a delectable dinner and for a restful sleep.
Have a scrumptious breakfast today and be prepared to explore the other key attractions of Jaipur like the Amer Fort, Jaigarh Fort, Laxmi Narayan Temple, etc.
You will visit the Amer Fort, which is another historic fort in Jaipur that is perched on top of a hill, overlooking the Maota Lake. The foundation of the fort was laid in 152 by Raja man Singh 1, and it underwent expansion and renovation under the rule of various dynasties like the Kachwahas, the Mughals and the British.
After this, you will visit the Jaigarh Fort, a majestic fort situated on top the ‘Cheel ka Teela’ or the Eagle’s Hill. This fort offers nice panoramic views of the Maota Lake, Amer Fort and the city of Jaipur. The fort was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II in 1726 to observe the weather and to have a patrolling eye on the valley bellow against enemy attacks. Another key attraction within the fort is the ‘Jaivana Canon’ which is considered amongst the largest canons of the World.
The last attraction you will be visiting today is the Birla Temple, which is a famous temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. It is also known as the Laxmi Narayan Temple and is made of beautiful white marble. You will witness an enchanting ‘mangala aarti’ here, an immersive Hindu ritual filled with devotion and chanting.
Later, return to your cozy hotel for a delicious dinner and a sweet, good night’s sleep.
We recommend you wake up a bit early today to make the most of your day as you will be traveling to Pushkar via Ajmer. Here you will visit the Taragarh Fort in the city, Khwaja Gharib Nawaz Dargah Sharif Dargah, the Ana Sagar Lake in Ajmer, and the Varah Ghat in Pushkar.
On reaching Ajmer, you will first visit the Taragarh Fort, which was built by Ajayaraja Chauhan in the 8th century on top of the Tragrah Hill. This fort is also known as the Ajaymeru Durg.
After this, you will visit the Khwaja Gharib Ajmer Sharif Dargah, the most religious place in Rajasthan dedicated to the revered Sufi Saint, Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti. The dargah was constructed by Qutub-ud-Din Aibak, the first sultan of Delhi. The dargah was constructed in the 13th century after the demise of Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti. The Dargah holds a lot of spiritual significance in people from all faith. It not only attracts tourists from across the globe now, but it was also so significant in the old times, that even the Mughal Emperor Akbar visited it around 11 times during his regime.
After this spiritual encounter with the divine, you will head towards the Ana Sagar Lake, a beautiful man-made lake constructed in the 12th century by Anaji Chauhan, the grandfather of Prithviraj Chauhan. You can sit by the banks of the lake, take a leisurely stroll, or enjoy boating (at your own expense).
After spending some nice time at the serene Ana Sagar Lake, you will continue your journey towards Pushkar, where you will first check-in to your hotel to freshen-up and will then head towards the Pushkar lake. Here, you may spend some quality time soaking in the spiritual essence of the ghats & temples or explore them on your own. There are around 400 temples and 52 bathing ghats around the Pushkar lake. However, there are 2 main ghats, namely: the Brahma Ghat (named after Lord Brahma) and the Varah Ghat (named after Lord Vishnu).
Today, you will be witnessing an enchanting ‘Mangala Aarti’ at the Varah Ghat. SO, make sure to reach the Varah ghat before sunset.
After this spiritual experience, return to your hotel to feast on a scrumptious dinner and to have a restful sleep.
Today is the final day of your short, ‘Glimpse of Rajasthan’ tour and you will be visiting the Brahma Temple and the sand dunes of Pushkar before heading to Jaipur.
Wake up to a fresh new day in the sacred city of Pushkar, relish an appetizing breakfast and then proceed towards the Brahma Temple, one of the oldest and among the very few temples in the world dedicated to Lord Brahma. The temple holds special spiritual significance because according to the legend, Lord Brahma conducted a ‘yagna’ (a religious ritual) here in Pushkar and after the ritual, he dropped a lotus flower on the ground, which led to the formation of the Pushkar Lake. The temple was constructed by Raja Amar Singh in the 19th century.
After this, you will head towards the sand dunes of Pushkar, where you can click some amazing pictures on the golden dunes or experience riding a camel (at your own cost).
You will then continue your journey towards Jaipur, where we will drop you at your preferred location, whether it is the ISBT, the Railway Station, or the Airport. From there, you will head back home with sweet, unforgettable memories that you will cherish for the years to come.
