    Day 1Kozhikode: Arrival & Sightseeing

    Upon your arrival in Kozhikode, you will be warmly welcomed by our friendly agent who will escort you to your cozy hotel for check-in.

    After settling in and freshening up, you will begin your exploration of Kozhikode with a visit to the Tali Temple, which is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple was built in the 14th century by Swamy Thirumalapad at the site where the great sage warrior Parshuram laid the foundation of the sacred Jyotirlingam. Here, you will not only seek the blessings of Lord Shiva, but will also have an opportunity to marvel at the beautifully carved wooden roof and the serene ambiance that surrounds this sacred site.

    Next, you will head towards the Mananchira Square, which is a well-maintained fresh-water pond park in the heart of the town. This picturesque square is named after the Mananchira tank that was originally built by the Zamorin of Kozhikode as a bathing pool in the 14th century. Later, the tank was converted to be used as a source of drinking water by Tippu Sultan. In the late 19th century, the tank was declared to be used as a source of drinking water only, and a park was established by the Municipal Corporation of Kozhikode (Calicut) in 1995.     As you leave Kozhikode, your first stop will be at the Thusharagiri Waterfalls, which is nestled in the Western Ghats. This stunning cascade is a series of three waterfalls that is accessible after a short hike. The cascading waters and the mist amidst the dense forest creates a picturesque and tranquil setting, that is ideal for capturing beautiful photographs.

This uninhabited island is spread over 950 acres and is a haven for nature lovers. It is known for its rich biodiversity, including a variety of rare flora and fauna. Here, you can enjoy a leisurely walk through the island’s bamboo bridges, explore the dense forests, and relax by the riverbanks.     Today, you will begin your day by heading either to the Chembra Peak or you will continue your journey to Kochi and visit the Athirapilli Waterfalls on the way.

    The Chembra Peak is the highest peak in Wayanad, standing at an altitude of 2100 metres above sea level. To reach the top, you will have to embark on a short moderately challenging trek that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and valleys. On your way, you will encounter the heart-shaped lake, known as the “Hridaya Saras:, which is a major highlight of the trek. This lake is believed to have never dried up and adds a romantic charm to the journey. The serene environment and panoramic vistas make this trek a memorable experience for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts alike.

    After descending from the Chembra Peak, you will visit the newly constructed Glass Bridge, which is located nearby.
